This weekend -- October 8-10, 2010 -- Spooky Empire returns to Orlando and horror fans have a reason to rejoice. Three solid days of horror will descend upon the Wyndham Orlando Resort, with stars, merchandise, movies and more. This is absolutely everything you need to prep for Halloween and to fill your horror quota for the entire year. It's one of the premiere horror conventions in the entire country and it is worth your attention.
This year, the massive guest list includes terrifying luminaries such as Robert Englund, John Carpenter, Elvira, Danny Trejo, Ace Frehley, Jason Mewes, and more. The cast members from classic horror films like The Lost Boys, the original Nightmare on Elm Street, and The Return of the Living Dead will also be in attendance, along with artists, authors, tattoo artists, vendors, musicians and more.
Don't miss Friday, when the weekend kicks off with a Zombie Walk down International Drive. Past years have seen hundreds of the living dead line the sidewalks and shamble their way to the convention, and 2010 promises to be the biggest walk yet. But that is only the beginning. The rest of the weekend will include the Freakshow Horror Film Festival, parties, live bands, special presentations, autograph sessions, a costume contest, a celebrity poker tournament, and loads more.
Tickets can be purchased at the door or online, on the Spooky Empire website. It's only $50 for the weekend, though you can also do day passes for $35. I've done this event -- if you are a horror fan, it is THE ticket for you. This year's guest list is unbeatable and you don't want to miss the vendor room. In fact, you might want to keep an extra suitcase handy for all the stuff you buy.
So bring your camera. Bring your costume. Bring your fangs and your fur. Bring whoever and whatever you want, and bring it all to the Wyndham this weekend. Don't miss Spooky Empire.
